Goodbye San Francisco Bay, I'm leaving you, I'm leaving you today. Lord how I have known, what it's like to be a stone, in a glass house, with no way of breaking out. And I know that summer is gone, so I'll sit here with you on, this front porch, hopeing it will last. But time and time that I know, things are just to hard to hold, so I'll let go, of you, tonight. And maybe I was never the man, that you thought that you could understand, so I'll let go, of you, tonight. When the River bends and the sun goes down, somewhere in that lonesome town, I know that, you'll be waiting there. But babe I'm comming home to stay. Babe I'm comming home to stay. Babe I'm comming home to stay. Babe I'm comming home, comming home, comming home, to stay.

The River 03:00
Grandma Lott was a wise old soul, givin me advice by the river shore. Take a pan, wash it with sand, make a hole so you can see the land. Everynight we'd sit and pray, just tryin'a wash all my sins away. I guess it didnt work out alright cause im addicted to the bottle and I love to fight. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that ill remember forever. Well she told me one day son, youll become the man that youve been dreamin of, well I took her words to heart, but never finished what I couldnt start. Ended up just the same im a drunkard and a sinner that just couldnt change. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that ill remember forever. Well that Devil came to me, but never in the way I thought Id see. He came all bottled up it was a hundred proof I couldnt get enough, and I live my life in sin now its a bottled up version of hell im in. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that the Devil came to the river. Thats the day that ill remember forever.

Abigail 04:34
Well I met her by the river, when I was still young, and her cheeks were as red as that setting sun. But the wine was still sweet from my old tin, I never once thought id fall in love with her then. Well we caught the first train right out of town, she took the uppers and I took the downs. From bar to bar and drink to drink, she was the captain that made my ship sink. Abigail, Abigail, your love fills my heart like the wind to a sail. Abigail, oh Abigail you never did ever did fail. My new car was old but the backseat was big, we were shy in the front seat but the backs where we hid. For miles and miles it carried us there, that gasoline love machine that we both shared. Abigail, Abigail, your love fills my heart like the wind to a sail. Abigail, oh Abigail you never did ever did fail. Well we ended up in some little old town, after years of just drivin around. She brought me in and she sat me down, she said that she loved me but didnt know how. Abigail, Abigail, why did you leave me right there to fail. Abigail oh Abigail your love left my heart no wind left to sail. Her eyes still shine like diamonds and gold, but her heart is as black as that miners coal. And her minds as twisted as those railroad ties, oh I still love her now and I dont know why. Abigail, Abigail, your love fills my heart like the wind to a sail. Abigail, oh Abigail you only did ever once fail.

Oh that dirty house, with the windows knocked out, and that crooked roof with the stars shining through. Oh, please be there, Oh, please be there. When the coffee stains, and cigarette conversation stays, all the same, with talks of whos to blame. And the phone I use, the lines must be broken into, cause I cant reach you, no matter what I do. Oh, Please Be There, Oh, Please Be There... So in that dirty house, where we screamed and shout, where we laughed all night, where we loved and fight, I will lay myself down, without a sound, and wait for you, till the sun, is, new. And I'll be there, yes I'll be there. Oh, Please be there, Oh, Please be there, Oh, please be there, Oh, Please be here.

All You Get 03:04
When I was 22 I guess, I packed up my shit and I took off just hoping for the best. My heart was filled with grand desires, illusions of what I thought I had, not down and out and tired. Life is just a dream as far as I can tell, some days you wake up in heaven some in hell, and other times, you just want to yell. Here I am, this is it, just for tonight, that is all you get cause im leavin here again. Theres nothin good, that comes with all the bad, just take what you get in this here life and drink away the sad. Cause now ive learned from all along the way, life aint what you want its what you make it here today. Life is just a dream as far as I can tell, some days you wake up in heaven some in hell, and other times, you just want to yell. Here I am, this is it, just for tonight, that is all you get cause im leavin here again. So when the gray skies come and you feel like you're in hell, hold up your glasses high, and everyone just yell Here I am, this is it, just for tonight, that is all you get cause im leavin here again.

Maria 03:29
My sweet Maria, youve probably seen her, sitting at the end of the bar. Surrounded by friends, drunk when she walks in. She stumbles to her seat and downs a shot. A drunken advocate for the southern rock flagship, she mellows out to a country song. And if you see her, please tell Maria, that I will be back in the fall. She loved him so but she could not let go, of all the years spent with him. All the times we danced, in a drunken trance, and slide across a checkerboard kitchen floor. But she was never mine, and I learned this with time, so maybe, just maybe ill be fine. And if you see her, please tell Maria, that I will be back in the fall. I heard that they found her, lying on the ground there, in the alley-way behind the bar. Someone had taken everything she owned, and left her lying there all alone. But I know that she'd say," it is all okay", her heart had been stolen anyway. So if you see her, please tell Maria, that I wont be back, after all.

Im going down, to sun city, to see my girl again. and if the rain should fall, let her eyes shine in. Cause Sun City Hearts, always pull me from the dark, and from the times that im living in, Sun Citys calling me again. She moves from street to street, painting walls and dreams, and evertime that I leave, it brings me to my knees. Sun City Hearts, always pull me from the dark, and from the times that im living in, Sun Citys calling me again. She brings the sun to shine, I bring the rain in the summertime, she'll be the ocean to my land, I'll be the broken heart that sits in her hand. Sun City Hearts, always pull me from the dark, and from the times that im living in, Sun Citys calling me again. cause im goin down to sun city..to see my girl again...

Young 03:13
I was born an outcast in a quiet little town, hoppin trains and doin drugs, drinkin till the sun came up cause I was young, oh I was young. And Ive said and done some things that would break my mamas heart, I lie, I cheat, but still she thinks that I could do no wrong, cause im just young, oh im so young. Life is just some foolish game that everybody plays, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you go insane either way. Well I have been in love before at least a couple times, I treat them bad they treat me worse maybe its because we were too young, were just too young. Oh the drugs they call me out and that bottle brings me in I live in sin from all that I have done, everywhere ive been when I was young, when I was young. Life is just some foolish game that everybody plays, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you go insane either way. As I grew older well my life it stayed the same, nothing changed I just got older and I ended up insane from being young, from being young. Life is just some foolish game that everybody plays, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you go insane either way. lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala

Youre the devil in disguise, with those red velvet eyes, youve got that dress that swirls and twirls inside my head, and I, wish you were dead. Every guy she meets she tries to sweep them off their feet, just so she can feel secure about herself. Lord, that girls from Hell. My friends all hang around, hoping that I let you down, just so they can pick you up and take you out. Now, my friends are dead. She's not an angel, no halo hangin' round, she'll lift your heart up, and throw it on the ground, and then you'll realize, she's just, the devil in disguise. Her hair was shades of gold, and her heart so black and cold. She could care less if I ever made it through, and I , well I could care less too. That sheep in womens clothes, she claims to be compsed, she swears shes independant and unique, shes not, one of those things. She's not an angel, no halo hangin' round, she'll lift your heart up, and throw it on the ground, and then you'll realize, she's just, the devil in disguise. Youre the devil in disguise, so full of sorry lies, take your sh*t and pack your bags head out of town, and I, I hope you die.

If I live to see the sun, please go and tell someone, cause its not the last thing that you'll hear, its just the sound of my tears. She said she loved him so, they had plans to meet in mexico. where the sun never seems to set, a place to forget. But one day they caught up with him, he knew one day his past would do him in, they said they'd hang him fore the dawn, so he wrote a letter to his love. If I live to see the sun, please go and tell someone, cause its not the last thing that you'll hear, its just the sound of my tears. She waited for two years, praying that he'd meet her here. but when she finally came on home, she found the letter that he wrote. She tried in vain to move on, but she never saw the dawn, just a modern day Juliet, who could not forget. And when they found her lying there, in the kitchen by the stairs, holding a note that they read, and all it said. If I live to see the sun, please go and tell someone, cause its not the last thing that you'll hear, its just the sound of my tears. If I Live to See the Sun, If I Live to See the Sun, If I Live to See the Sun.
